A POLYGAMIST will go on trial for allegedly raping one of his five wives - a 13-year-old girl.

Father-of-33 Tom Green, 54, was jailed last year after being convicted of being married to five women at the same time.

If found guilty of first-degree felony rape of a child he could be given life in prison in Nephi, Utah.

Green married wife No2 - 13-year-old Linda Kunz - in 1986. Green, who was 37, admits he had sex with her after they wed.

Green has argued that the marriage - which produced a baby - took place in Mexico and that US authorities had no jurisdiction.
