Stone Barrington and Holly Barker are familiar to readers of other Woods' novels and when they meet in Manhattan the action sizzles. Barker is in pursuit of a serial murderer who is being protected by the FBI. Lots of interaction with the CIA, the Mafia, supposed Middle Eastern terrorists, and the NYPD keeps the two of them tearing around the country in Barrington's speedy plane and fast cars.
Roberts does a terrific job narrating this tale of hot pursuit. His range of voices, accents, and character differentiation is subtle and true; the listener has no difficulty identifying who is speaking. Entertaining listening; note that there is a fair amount of casual sex between the middle-aged protagonists. Mary Purucker, Beverly Hills RL., Beverly Hills, CA
