T-Shirt Day in the U.S.A
Mary Walker-BaptistEvery year our class sponsors T-Shirt Day to practice geography and graphing skills. We invite the entire school, both kids and staff, to dress down in T-shirts from any one of the 50 states--such as sports-team jerseys or souvenir shirts from tourist attractions. Then our class records the data from all the shirts that are worn. By day's end, my students have collected, charted, and graphed all of the states that are represented; marked the states on a class map; compared the results to last year's; and awarded a prize to the class with the most states. The whole school looks forward to this project!
