Lockerbie dad's plane warning
PAUL HUNTERA FATHER whose daughter died in the Lockerbie bombing has criticised current security on planes.
Dr Jim Swire, whose daughter Flora, 24, was among 270 people killed in the 1988 explosion, spoke out as it was claimed Islamic extremists are planning to blow up a passenger jet.
He said: "Britain has made significant advances in security in the past 11 years, but there has been a lamentable slowness in following our lead in America and Europe."
Dr Swire, spokesman for the families of British victims of the bombing, added: "There will be a lot of people sweating in those countries because they have done so little to improve security."
The Foreign Office refused to confirm airlines are on red alert because of the bombing threat.
