MY MORNING JACKET: Z MY MORNING Jacket's sound is dominated by the echoing vocals of songwriter Jim James. Close behind comes James's guitar.

This is the sound of a very superior madhouse. Pick of the songs is Dondante, which builds into a grand edifice of intertwined guitars.

Off The Record uses a skewed reggae rhythm, while the splendid Lay Low comes on like latterday Little Feat. Whatever the reason they sound like this, it's a taste you could usefully acquire.
