Suicide after lover said he was married
TIM COWANA CONSULTANT psychiatrist took a huge dose of painkillers after discovering her partner of seven years, a fellow doctor, was married, an inquest heard today.
Barbora Richardson, 38, of Kensington, was found dead in her bedroom by her stepfather on 22 November. She had taken a massive dose of Co-proxamol along with other medication.
Her stepfather Barry Marin, who also lived at Ms Richardson's home with her mother, told Westminster coroner's court: "There was no sign of her being depressed but she mentioned that he (her partner) had been deceitful after a relationship of seven years. I found her dead with a mobile in her hand."
Coroner's officer Keith Rees said he had spoken to Ms Richardson's boyfriend, who was not named, who said that she had discovered he was married.
Ms Richardson, who was born in Prague, studied physiology at Oxford and medicine at Cambridge before pursuing a career at West Middlesex Hospital.
Recording a verdict of suicide, Dr Paul Knapman said: "She was a high achiever. She would have been aware of the lethal consequences of taking Co-proxamol."
