Bonduelle sees H1 rise 19% - Brief Article
French canned chilled and frozen vegetable supplier Bonduelle, has reported its H 1 turnover at 488m [European Dollar], up 19.3% from H1 of 409m [European Dollar] the previous year. The figures take into account additional turnover generated by the 54.7m [European Dollar] acquisition of Avril and Cirio France, which Bonduelle bought in November 1999 (see Eurofood, 18 November 1999, p7). In constant terms the increase stands at 6%. The acquisition has allowed Bonduelle to reinforce its leadership in Europe through brands such as Bonduelle, Cassegrain and Marie Thumas. Elsewhere, activity in South America is showing pleasing signs. Bonduelle has also seen sales consolidate in Italy, following the acquisition of a 90% stake in Cielo e Campo earlier this year (see Eurofood, 11 May 2000, p6). The Italian market represents about 7% of the group's activity. The group expects that its final results could higher than the 20% growth target
