I believe media convergence will play an important role in the financial category because of the needs of investors, and that it will change more quickly than the entertainment arena. People need up-to-date and timely information, and they need to have that data point available to them—whether it's by pager, the Internet, telephone, or television.
For journalists, the Internet has already been a productivity enhancer, because information is so much more readily accessible. In the future, I think the industry will reward journalists who are multidimensional, who make the most of the media—like Joe Kernen [a CNBC reporter]. He often references CNBC.com while on the air, shows his computer screen, and says, "Have you looked at this?"
