TV WEATHERGIRL SUZY'S OUTLOOK ... FIVE YEARS OFF

TV weathergirl Suzanne Charlton is taking a FIVE-YEAR career break to look after her new-born baby.

Suzanne, 35, is putting her BBC job on hold so she can look after five-month-old son Robert Harry - named after his World Cup-winning grandfather Sir Bobby Charlton.

Suzanne, who is actually employed by the Met Office, said: "I'm up to my eyeballs at the moment.

"Everyone knows what it's like when you have just had a new baby. He's keeping me extremely busy.

"The Met Office are really good with their staff, particularly female staff. Because they have invested so much money in me they have said I can take a career break.

"I'll definitely go back to work at the Met Office and I'll probably go back to the television, but for the moment I've got my hands full."

Suzanne was recently voted the most accurate forecaster on TV and her decision to quit her high-flying job follows a trend by celebrities to be hands-on mothers. Posh Spice Victoria Adams intends to be a full- time mum for new baby Brooklyn and has insisted she won't have a nanny.

Suzanne and tennis coach husband Nick Brown, 26, suffered heartbreak before Robert was born, when she had a miscarriage.

They married four years ago at a private ceremony in Cheshire and now live in Hitchin, Herts.

Although Suzanne and Nick decided to call the 9lb 2oz baby Robert in honour of Sir Bobby, they won't be shortening his name.

Suzanne said: "We have called him Robert Harry after his two grandfathers - and we will call him Robert, not Bobby."

Suzanne began her career at 27 when she became the youngest BBC weather presenter after she graduated from Reading University.

A Met Office spokesman said: "Suzanne is entitled to take her break...this is something we do offer our female staff."
