OWEN'S BROTHER HAS A LOVECHILD

THE brother of soccer superstar Michael Owen has a lovechild by the woman he romanced during last summer's World Cup.

But aircraft fitter Terry Owen is no longer involved with the mother of his two-month-old daughter and now has a relationship with another woman.

Single mother Amanda Preston has been left to raise baby Ellie Louise alone, just half a mile from the pounds 150,000 Owen family home in Hawarden, North Wales, which Terry shares with pounds 20 million teenage striker Michael, their two sisters and their parents.

"It's the talk of the village," a friend of Amanda's said. "Michael's parents are always popping round to see their grandchild but Terry is no longer seeing Amanda."

She said 28-year-old Terry had now fallen "head over heels" for 21- year- old office worker Sadie Lewis.

Terry, who works for British Aerospace, is regularly pestered by girls keen to get close to his heart-throb brother but spends most weekends with Sadie at the Crown and Liver pub in Hawarden.

The couple have also been spotted together in the bars and clubs of nearby Chester.

Amanda, 23, worked as a legal assistant before Ellie's birth but has given up her job to raise the child.

The Owen clan have continued to stand by Amanda and her daughter.

Michael's mother, 47-year-old Janette, last visited them on Friday, spending more than an hour at their pounds 80,000 modern semi.

Michael, the hero of England's World Cup campaign, was one of the first to visit his niece at the Countess of Chester Hospital where she was born in February.

Speaking on the doorstep of the family home yesterday he confirmed that his brother had had a relationship with Amanda but refused to comment further.

He said: "Amanda and Terry want to be left alone - they do not want to talk about this."" Terry Robert Owen is named as the father on Ellie's birth certificate and he accompanied Amanda when she went to register the birth.

Both parents gave separate addresses when asked where they usually live

Amanda, who has a second child by another father, relies heavily on the support of her own parents who live in a pounds 120,000 detached home on the edge of Hawarden. Everton fan Terry - named after Michael's 48-year-old father - was a talented schoolboy footballer.

But he never reached the heights of his younger brother.

However the brothers remain close and Terry insists he has never been jealous.

In an interview earlier this year, the keen amateur footballer said: "I don't feel like I'm living in Michael's shadow because I only play to keep fit. I know there is a huge difference between playing at BP Llandarcy in front of a few hundred on a wet Wednesday and Celta Vigo."

The Owens have another brother, Andrew, 27, and two sisters, Karen, 22, and Lesley, 13.

Michael is dating long-term girlfriend Louise Bonsall but has no plans to marry.

But a mansion is having built near his parents' home is nearing completion.
