Grandmother beaten to death in her home
VICTORIA BELLNEIGHBOURS have spoken of their shock after a 70-year-old grandmother was bludgeoned to death in her home.
Pamela Wicks was found in her garage by husband Alex, 71, who had taken their dog for a 25-minute walk. A post mortem showed she had been battered over her head with a blunt instrument.
Officers were called to Telford Way in Hayes, Middlesex, at 6.20pm on Friday night.
Simon Pearman, 46, who lives a few doors away, said: "I am shocked this has happened here.
There is very little crime around."
Another neighbour said: "I cannot believe this has happened. She was a lovely lady."
Police believe Mrs Wicks either knew her attacker or was tricked into letting someone inside the house.
