I want to thank you for "`Mommy, I Want Nummies!'" in the November-December 2002 issue. As a mom of two children who have enjoyed prolonged breastfeeding, I found the article on the benefits of nursing past 3 very supportive. When I nursed my older son (now 8) until he was 5, I dealt with doubtful and disapproving comments. Now that my younger son is approaching 4 and is choosing to nurse, the feeling of having to hide is arising again. It is so valuable to see in print that this is not a deviant practice and that, in fact, it is beneficial!
