Despite yesterday's Les Ferdinand-inspired 1-0 win at Goodison, the Swiss coach (above) - who left Grasshopper Zurich to replace Gerry Francis 10 months ago - will leave this week.
Favourite to replace Gross is Yugoslav Raddy Antic, the man recommended to Spurs supremo Alan Sugar by his Director of Football David Pleat.
Antic played for Pleat at Luton in the early 80s and famously saved The Hatters from relegation.
Next in the queue of foreign candidates comes German Jurgen Klinsmann, who is reported to have offered his services to Sugar, who in turn asked the players for their views - which were mixed.
Klinsmann's respresentative Andy Gross (surely no relation!) is reported to be in London to prepare for Klinsmann's
