The Hollywood Style And Beauty Book: Here's Looking At You
Rachel TurnerDomini James, 29, production editor, from Bedford
Domini had a normal skin type - so Rachel applied a small amount of concealer (Body Shop 02 Extra Cover) under the eyes and on any blemishes. Then with a damp sponge she applied a liquid foundation very lightly over the whole face, blending out to the hairline (Colourings 01 Skin Treat Foundation). Using a brush, a light dusting of Clinique translucent powder was applied over the foundation to set it and take away any shine.
The eyebrows were brushed upwards and outwards to form a nice shape and any gaps were filled in with a brown matt eye shadow.
Beige rose eye shadow by Bourjois was brushed over the entire eyelids, then the socket line was shaded in with Chataigne Doree, also by Bourjois, and a soft black eye shadow used on the lid, very close to the eyelashes, to give definition and bring the eye to life.
Black mascara was used on lashes (Estee Lauder More Than Mascara).
Blusher, Clinique Tawnied Blush, was brushed lightly and swept over and just under the cheek bones. To create a finished look, Clinique Tender Heart lipstick was applied with a lip brush.
Fiona Shields, 28, journalist, from Edinburgh
Rachel started by covering slight high colour on cheeks with Body Shop 02 Extra Cover and then applied Estee Lauder Enlighten Foundation (Outdoor Beige) with a damp sponge, blending into the skin and keeping the finish nice and light. This was then set with Clinique Transparency 3 powder, lightly brushed over the face to avoid the foundation looking heavy and mask-like.
Fiona's eyebrows were shaped using soft brown eye shadow corduroy by MAC, sweeping the colour very lightly through the natural hairline and filling in any gaps.
Her eyelids were shaded with MAC Aria in the sockets and outer corner of the eye and a soft cream eye shadow applied on the lid and brow bone (Estee Lauder compact discs soft grey powder).
Estee Lauder compact discs were then applied below and above the outer corner of the eye for definition, with the same mascara as Domini.
Colourings sand blusher was used on the cheek bones for subtle shading with Prescriptions Indian Sugar lipstick providing the finished effect.
