DAVID ROSS MacDONALD, David Ross MacDonald, (Pepper Tree 0505). Thoughtful songs in simple arrangements (mostly solo guitar and vocal) from a pretty damn good guitarist. With a voice like a young Bruce Springsteen, MacDonald offers the wistful "Shoulders Brown," about missing someone and the sinister sounding "Draw Me In." The instrumental "Bela Flak!" is a highlight, with blazing finger-picking and some very cool harmonics.
