Biofuels green fuel plant on track for July completion
Andrew LeeBiofuels Corporation, the company building Europe's biggest biodiesel plant on Teesside, said it is on course to have the new facility operational in July. Biofuels plans to produce alternative diesel from vegetable oils, meeting what it claimed will be a burgeoning demand for green fuels. In a statement to investors, the company said the plant is 70 per cent complete and it expects to achieve production of more than 260,000 tonnes per annum. The high global oil price has boosted interest in firms offering viable alternatives, and Biofuels' shares rose sharply after it announced its plans were on track.
