Young artist - Brief Article
Samantha L. StevensI primarily get my ideas from the things I do and see every clay. I have been drawing from the time I could pick up a crayon; I started by drawing on the bathroom wall; my mom was not very happy with me. My grandfather is an artist and I guess I also get some of my talent from my mom. I mostly like to draw animals of all kinds--from insects to prairie dogs with hula skirts. I like to draw fictional characters and just about anythng, but my passion is horses.
In art class we draw, sculpt, sketch and paint to improve our skills. My teacher encourages us to draw what we feel. She is a great artist herself. She seems to understand art and us, inside and out. It is amazing how far you can go with a piece of paper, a pencil and your active imagination. The world, with all of its color and movement, can take you to places that you never thought yon could go.
