Victor Japan Aims Increase in CD-RW Sales
The Victor Co. of Japan recently announced an increase in production of their CD-RWs and forecasted five times greater sales than last fiscal year. The company will manufacture 150,000 units per month. The increase is 100,000 units, compared to last fall. The company expects sales to reach 1.5 million units in 1999. The CD-RW market has been growing rapidly over the last few years, and the 1999 market is estimated at 12 million units. Victor is aiming for a 10% share of this market, and as part of their efforts to reach this goal, will be expanding their production lines and automating their investigation department.
