Animal Pairs
The cards on these pages show 10 different animals as both babies and adults. The adult and baby cards for an animal are edged in the same color. You can play a memory game with the cards: just try to find pairs of cards that have the same color edge and that show the baby and the adult of the same animal. First, cut out all 20 cards on the black lines. Then turn all the cards face down, so that you can't see the pictures. Take turns trying to find the baby and the adult picture of the same animal: the baby frog and the adult frog, for example. The first player turns over any two cards. If she turns over two cards that go together, she can keep that pair and take another turn. If she turns over two cards that don't go together, then she turns the two cards face down again after all the players have seen them. Then it's another player's turn. Try to remember where the different babies and adults are so that you can make a match on your turn. The player who has the most pairs when all the cards are gone wins the game.
