To get the most out of your PSA membership you must become involved. Just glancing at the Journal each month is not enough. In addition, consult the Services and Activities section that appears quarterly. Check those listings that start with "ND." You will see that you can have your slides evaluated or identified. You can enter Individual Competition, where you will receive comments on your work. If you prefer looking at the work of others, you may want to borrow a slide set, either an exhibition set or an instruction set. The Journal tells you whom to contact.
Whether you are a beginner or a star exhibitor, belonging to a slide study circuit is a lot of fun. You will get to know your fellow circuit members through their slides and their comments and you will get new ideas for nature subjects, techniques, workshops and information about the subjects.
If your interest is story-telling with your slides, consider entering the essay competition. Rules for the Nature Slide Essay and the Conservation Essay are published in the January issue of the Journal.
If you would like to become actively involved in the workings of the Division, submit your name to the Chairman of Vice-Chairman of the Nature Division. Position vacancies occur from time to time and one of them might be perfect for you. Think about doing this, and then do it!
