Summer cottage - poem
Anne PorterThis is a house that smells of melons and roses
And the sea wind pours through it
And the light curtains
Are always floating
And the airy sprays
Of the sea-lavender
Tremble on the table
And a hushed roar
From the massive ocean
Covers us night and day
It shelters us
Like a tree shadow
We live in it
As in a forest.
