It has been stated before, but bears repeating, that this is your publication. It is a magazine by the members, for the members. A railroad as rich in history and diversity as the Chesapeake & Ohio is the stuff of countless stories. Many have been presented in these pages over the past 33 years, but many more have yet to be told.

The editorial staff welcomes all comments and contributions. If there is an aspect of the C&O's history, operations, people, or equipment that is close to your heart, please consider writing about it. If you can offer additional information on a subject that has already appeared in print, please also get in touch with us.

Current news items of a general nature should be sent directly to Everett Young at the address at left, while motive power developments affecting former C&O lines and locomotives should be directed to Jerry Doyle. If you are a modeler, please consider submitting details of your latest C&O-related project to Russ Hass. Feature article submissions may be sent directly to me or in care of the Archives in Clifton Forge. Together, we can ensure that the C&O's story is told.

One of the best resources in the field of railway history is at your fingertips, in the form of the C&OHS Archives. The Archives staff can advise you of documents, photographs, drawings and other materials accessible for research on your topic of choice.

Detailed submission guidelines will be included as an insert with an upcoming issue, but suffice to say that text contributions may be submitted in just about any format, from longhand to diskettes and e-mail. Images may also be submitted in a variety of ways, with well-printed, sharp black-and-white prints (5x7 or larger) and well-exposed original 35mm color slides or negatives preferred.

Rest assured that all submitted materials are treated with the utmost care and are returned promptly upon publication. Remember, it all starts with an idea!
