Yo Wants to Know
Daniel, Lea"I've tidied the backyard enough," says Yo.
"We've barely started," says Dad. "All these dandelions need to be dug up."
"Dandelions are the rabbit's favorite snack," says Yo.
"OK, we'll leave the dandelions for now," says Dad, "and cut down this dead tree instead."
"No, Dad," says Yo. "Birds take strips off that tree for making nests."
"Well then," says Dad, "we'll move the woodpile to a better spot."
"The rabbit lives in a hole under there," says Yo, "and she has babies."
"Our backyard has places for animals to hide and berries and bugs and plants for them to eat," says Yo. "But only the birds have a place to get a drink."
"I've always wanted a little pond," says Dad, "with lily pads."
"Let's make one," says Yo. "Then our backyard will be a good home for all the animals."
