"Millions of years ago this ridge was the edge of a sea," says Dad.

"Those people are climbing right up the side of it!" exclaims Yo. "Just like Spiderman."

"They have harnesses and ropes to help them," says Dad. "And special shoes."

"Ouch!" cries Yo. "There are too many rocks around here."

"Hey! This looks like a snail," says Yo.

"It's a fossil," says Dad. "That means it's turned to stone. Animals and plants can both become fossilized."

"All this rock is made of things that were at the bottom of the sea," says Dad. "Sand and dirt and shells and plants all pressed together."

"These rocks are steps for giants," says Yo.

"You can do it," says Dad. "Come on! We're almost at the end of the trail."

"There are the rock climbers!" says Yo.

"I think we're rock climbers, too," says Dad.
