THE plan by Tony Blair and George Bush to destroy the Afghan heroin trade should be welcome news for Britons.

Destroying these poppy fields will help defeat those who are making money from drugs, such as terror chief Osama bin Laden, while also harming domestic drug dealers.

Let's hope that in a war which will probably be conducted in a distant land, this is one positive outcome that we will see a bit closer to home.
