Commentary: Letter to the Editor: The U.S. should pull out of the
Letter to the EditorDear Editor,
There are many good reason's to extricate ourselves as a nation from the United Nations. A long-standing plan and commitment put out by our State Department as U.S. government policy to be implemented in stages is Document 7277, the turning over of our military to the UN and disarmament of our nation, which would then make us helpless before our enemies. We are again under UNESCO, a venomously anti- American organization of the UN. The reason we pulled out of it in 1984 was, as Reagan said, because it exhibited a hostility toward the basic institutions of a free society.
The UN's Kyoto protocol is supported by powerful congressmen such as Senator John McCain. The UN's Kyoto Treaty based on false claims of global warming will if enacted cause a great harm to our economy and our jobs. Our nation's energy output is to be cut and the price of gasoline and energy related products, heating bills, etc. will soar upward.
We still have a choice. Demand that our government leaders get us out of the UN now or before long reap the consequence of our nation betrayed and enslaved to those who seek our demise.
