Russell WhiteOne of the companies you did not include in your "Where to Work" story [October 14] is Coldwater Creek [a women's clothing retailer]. I've been working at the home office for over 2 1/2 years. I was recruited to join their team as the senior technical designer. Coldwater Creek knew about my background and that I had a long-term partner, Stan. This information was never hidden and was talked about during my interview. Stan and I relocated from Columbus, Ohio, to Sandpoint, Ida. On our first night in Sandpoint, we were invited to a social event, and the president of Coldwater Creek welcomed us with open arms.
Part of my relocation package included domestic-partner benefits for Stan. My workmates fully accept our relationship, and Stan is included in all events and social engagements. Since I have joined the company, several gay employees have been hired--including one in upper management. Hopefully, you will consider adding Coldwater Creek to your list of "where to work."
