OKC November auto sales drop 11.35%
Janice Frances-Smith The Journal RecordSales of new cars and trucks in the Oklahoma City area were down 11.35 percent in November from a year earlier.
New-car and -truck sales for the month totaled 3,374, down from 3,806 for November 2001, according to the Metropolitan Auto Dealers Association. Sales for the month included 1,692 cars, down 12.5 percent from 1,933 for November 2001, and 1,682 new trucks, down 10.2 percent from 1,873 a year earlier.
Used-car sales for the month totaled 3,708, down 11.2 percent from 4,176 a year earlier. Total new and used car and truck sales for the month totaled 3,708, down 11.2 percent from 4,176 for November 2001.
According to figures provided by the Metro Auto Dealer's Association, 24,540 new trucks were sold during the period from January through November 2002 -- up 4.64 percent from that same period in 2001.
New-car sales for January through November were down 9.3 percent from a year earlier and sales of used cars and trucks were down 5.46 percent.
Sales of new and used cars and trucks combined in for the first 11 months of 2002 were 3.97 percent below 2001's sales for the first 11 months of the year.
