Jackman gets a curtain call
Jim FitzpatrickDear Interview,
I just want to say that Hugh Jackman looks absolutely hot in your [May 2004] issue! I think it's great that you cater to everyone's tastes by having the girls and the guys you feature let out their inner sexy beast!

Dear Interview,
Thank you for the interview with Hugh Jackman. David Furnish is right-on with his article's headline, "redefining the words 'leading man.'" I've been a fan of Mr. Jackman's since before X-Men hit it big, so it is gratifying to see him getting the attention he so richly deserves. Besides his obvious talent as an actor and a song-and-dance man, the guy is also just plain nice and totally unaffected by all the hoopla he's creating night after night in The Boy From Oz on Broadway.
In his role as Peter Allen, Jackman manages to take you on a two-and-a-half-hour ride that includes both laughter and tears--it's a performance that commands you to walk on air and to say to yourself as you leave the theater, "I have to see this show again and again." Some might say Jackman is on his way to the top, but in my opinion he's already there. By the way, the pictures were smokin'! They should have come with a warning: Cold shower needed after viewing.

Dear Interview,
I really have to hand it to you: On your May cover you put one of the most spirited and amazing talents perhaps ever to grace a stage or screen. As a huge Hugh Jackman fan I thank you for that. But I cannot understand how, in the photographs you chose, you managed to take away everything that sets him apart from other stars. The messy hair (wet or dry), the tired designer-jeans look, and most of all the exposed bit of hairy midriff are just not sexy in any way. Everything that is beautiful and truly a turn-on about Hugh Jackman is absent from these images.
