Ashfaq IshaqDear Readers,
2003 was an incredibly busy year for us at ICAF. We received hundreds of works of art every month as entries for our global art competition. We had to catalogue the art, scan it and frame the winning pieces. We planned our 2003 International ChildArt Festival, which took place in Washington. DC from September 6th through the 13th. We exhibited the World Mural from our 1999 Festival at the World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings held in Dubai, UAE from September 22nd through the 26th. We had to organize a research symposium in Doha, Qatar in partnership with the Qatar Foundation. There were many other activities we were involved with, including an ICAF exhibition at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
We tried to do everything perfectly, but we got behind in the publication of ChildArt. With this first issue for 2004, we want to assure you that you will not have to wait for ChildArt. We will publish on time and you will receive your copy on time.
We would like to thank Her Highness Sheikha Mozah, Chairperson of the Qatar Foundation, for giving ICAF the opportunity to help organize Qatar Foundation's first educational seminar on which this issue is based.
Happy reading!
