Teens reveal families' similarities to sitcoms

Our Pulse Team of teenage reporters asked their peers this week if their family is at all like TV sitcoms, and if so, what show would their family be?

"My family is most like the 'Malcolm in the Middle' family because we have a bunch of boys and our mom goes crazy, because we're kind of weird ..." -- Chandler Durrant, senior, Grantsville High School

" 'I Love Lucy' because all the children are annoying and no one understands my father." -- Alex Morrise, senior, Provo High School

"My family is like the Barones on 'Everybody Loves Raymond' because we're very close to my grandparents and they're always around. But instead of living across the street, they live in the basement." -- McKenzie Lerdahl, senior, Grantsville

"My family's really . . . random. We have moldy bananas in the car but no one will pull them out. And we put car polish in the fridge -- because my mom thinks that if things are frozen they will last longer. But I don't think we're like any particular sitcom family." -- Sylvia Hu, sophomore, West High School

"My family is most like the Huxtables on 'The Cosby Show,' because my parents are really laid back and funny, and when my parents flirt it's gross." -- Rachel Morris, senior, Grantsville

"If my family was a sitcom we'd be the 'Cosby' family -- Hawaiian style!" -- Celeste Correia, sophomore, Highland High
