DENNIS WISE came off the bench to win a crucial penalty which kept alive Millwall's play-off hopes.

Barry Hayles, Marvin Elliott and Jody Morris had put the Lions 3- 0 up just after the break, but Kenny Lunt's penalty, Steve Jones' 18- yard volley and Luke Varney's 81st-minute leveller - after Lions player-boss Wise came on in the 77th minute - gave Crewe's survival bid a massive boost.

But Ben May won Millwall the points with a penalty in the 85th minute after Wise was fouled by Lunt.

This time there was no response from Crewe and Millwall held on for victory.
