Now injured Rusedski may miss Wimbledon

GREG RUSEDSKI will await the result of a scan before deciding whether to enter the French Open after a neck injury forced him to withdraw from the Zagreb Open an hour before he was due on court for his first match in eight months, writes David Law.

It is another setback for the British No2 (above), who underwent foot and knee surgery after the US Open last September, and raises doubts over his Wimbledon participation next month.

Rusedski arrived at the challenger event in Zagreb in desperate need of match practice. All seemed well over the weekend, but in a training session on Monday he felt pain in his neck that spread down his right arm. "When I toss the ball up to serve, my arm doesn't want to stay there, and when I hit my forehand it hurts," he said. "There was no point playing if I couldn't take two of my biggest weapons out there."
