Why should I read NFPA Update?

To stay abreast of the latest developments. NFPA Update informs you of news and events, allowing you to react quickly to time-sensitive issues. Each issue of NFPA Update features hotlinks that take you to the appropriate page on NFPA's Web site for detailed information on: current codes and standards documents, proposals, comments, and Standards Council news; upcoming professional development training, seminars, and programs; NFPA World Safety Conference and Exposition® and Fall Education Conference; updated research reports, projects, and scholarships; Risk Watch®, Fire Prevention Week, and other public education initiatives; new and featured products from NFPA's online catalog.

How do I make sure I don't miss an issue?

If you're not already receiving NFPA Update, you should make sure the E-mail address in your online profile is up-to-date. Sign on at www.nfpa.org and click on the yellow "MY PROFILE" button. Then click the E-mail options link at the bottom of your online profile and select "NFPA Update" from the list. Finally, click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page to start receiving monthly E-mails.

If you haven't registered your online profile, click the yellow "MY PROFILE" button at www.nfpa.org. Enter your NFPA ID number (no leading zeroes) and your password, which is the first letter of your last name, followed by your ID number. If your membership number is 000100111 and your name is Peter Browne, for example, sign in by entering your membership number 100111 and your password b100111. Once you have signed in and personalized your profile, you can change the password.
