From the ROAL 1st vice president - ROAL President's Message - Brief
Steven J. FordI would like to congratulate Ten Barnes on becoming the new National ROAL President. Ten has been a great asset to ROAL and I am confident that with her leadership ROAL membership numbers will grow. She cannot do it alone, however; it is up to us to make it happen. We have the tools, now lets set to work.
ROAL has gone through many changes, mostly positive, but the negative side is dwindling membership. We have had some small gains, so let's try to build on this positive and make our numbers grow. Talk to any and all prospective members and show them the benefits of membership. Use your enthusiasm as a selling point.
We must also use our area directors; they are the main link between the clubs/departments and national and should be a useful tool for recruiting new members. The area director's reports give us a better understanding of the needs and developments of departments and clubs. Be sure your area director is aware of what your club or department is doing an(l that you receive needed information from her (or him).
Let's keep the lines of communication open and make this a banner year!
