PSP Wagon on the Move
Richard V. DraganAs PSPs unveiling draws near, its not exactly shocking that companies are already voicing their support for Sonys first entry into the world of portable gaming. THQ says it has received emulators for PSP development, and Atari went on record to say that it plans to support PSP at launch, but details on which games it has in development have yet to be revealed.
Electronic Arts made a similar announcement, claiming it would have games ready for PSPs launch. But representatives from EA say that the company actually wants to release eight to 12 PSP games within the 2005 fiscal year. Many of these games are going to be based on established EA franchises, but the PSP versions will have distinct features that set them apart from their console counterparts. Demos for EAs PSP games (which supposedly include a version of SSX) are already up and running. Interestingly, EA believes that PSP will have a retail price between $199 and $249 and that games will cost about $40. Official details on pricing will be released by Sony at this years E3.
