At the third star make a left
David S. MartinIt is hard to believe that someone would use the Texaco charts for navigation given their scale and lack of depths and buoyage (September TechnoTalk).
That does not take away the great utility of the Star Charts as planning aids. I still treasure and use my old ones every year. They are outstanding for quickly helping determine which ports should be researched in greater detail for a days run, and which ports might be good shelters in case of storm.
