NEWS GIRL HIT BY POLICE VAN
Helen WilliamsNEWS presenter Sheena McDonald was in intensive care last night after being knocked down by a police van on its way to an emergency.
She was in a stable condition in London's University College Hospital recovering from head injuries. Ms McDonald, who is in her 40s and has presented Channel 4 News and the Right To Reply, was knocked down just before midnight on Friday in North London. The van had its blue lights and siren on.
The 27-year-old PC driver, who was on a 999 call to a fight in Holloway Road, has been suspended from driving duties pending a routine investigation.
He and a 30-year-old PC passenger, both based at Islington, suffered shock.
