Crop row dad fights on
PAUL HUNTERTHE father of a boy born with eye deformities has pledged to continue trying to sue chemical giant DuPont - even though a similar claim has been rejected by an American court.
Peter Attenborough, of Newburgh, Fife, claims his son Jonathan, now nine, was affected by a DuPont fungicide before he was born.
"We are determined to carry on," he said. "I don't think there will be any problem proving that the chemicals caused defects."
His is one of three Scottish families suing DuPont in the US courts over the use of the fungicide, Benlate.
The British families pin their hopes on research which appears to show that exposure levels of one million millionth of a gram during crucial weeks of pregnancy could harm a foetus.
