Looking for a few good men and women
D. Keith JohnsonThe U.S. Armed Forces Professional Development and Military Skills Training Center, Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, is accepting applications until April 15 for its 2005 training camp. Officers offered a chance to participate will report in the middle of June for three weeks of some of the most physically and mentally challenging training that most will experience in their military careers.
During the first two-weeks, the officers receive physical and academic training. Some of the topics include land and water confidence courses, land navigation, rifle and pistol marksmanship, grenade throwing, combat first aid, NATO Laws of War, fitness and nutrition, and mental conditioning.
At the end of the two-week training camp, the members of the U.S. Interallied Confederation of Reserve Officers (CIOR) Military Pentathlon Team will be selected from the officers who attended the camp.
Active and Reserve officers with a Reserve commission from the six armed services and cadets are eligible.
