Why i like my school: Matthew Scott, aged 10, primary seven at
Matthew ScottTHE best thing about my school are the trips which are organised by the teachers.
Last year we went to Scotland and we got to meet the captain of the ferry which we travelled in. We were taken to the bridge of the ferry and shown how everything worked.
This year the school has organised a trip to Cultra Folk and Transport Museum and we will be staying there overnight.
The other thing I like about my school is that I get to spend time with my friends. It is a small school and everybody knows each other.
My best school pal is Matthew Kirby. He is nearly the same age as me and we like the same things, so we have a lot in common and we hardly ever argue.
My favourite lesson is science because I like discovering how things work. I also like to learn about what might happen in the future and also how things happened in the past.
I also like history because we get to hear some really good stories about things that happened years and years ago.
My least favourite lesson is English. I think it is very boring and the lessons seem to last forever.
I can't decide whether my favourite school teacher is Primary six teacher Mrs Craig or Mrs Stewart who teaches Primary seven. Both of them make class really interesting and Mrs Stewart allows us to do cool experiments. This year we cut up a lamb's lungs and heart.
If I could be head teacher for the day I would allow the pupils to have time off from lessons. I would also allow them to scrounge drinks from the dinner ladies and generally just mess around all day.
I would pay the teachers 50p an hour, but if I liked one in particular I'd probably give them a bit more. I would also take all the dinner ladies to McDonald's so that they could taste real food.
The thing I hate most about schools is the 11-Plus exams. I also think that we are given far too much homework.
If I had to punish naughty pupils I would make them eat the school dinners because after that I think that good behaviour would be guaranteed.
I have absolutely no idea what I want to be when I grow up. I'm only 10 years old, so I have plenty of time to make up my mind.
Whatever job I decide on it will have to pay me a lot of money - just like Microsoft king Bill Gates.
