White man beaten in race attack
DAVID DULINA STUDENT was assaulted by a gang of up to 20 youths in a suspected race attack.
The white man, 20, was leaving the University of East London campus in Longbridge Road, Dagenham, with an Asian friend when he was set upon by the group of Asian men.
He suffered a swollen right eye, cuts and grazes and needed treatment at King George's Hospital.
Police are treating it as a racially-motivated incident because the victim believes he was attacked for being with an Asian friend.
The assault happened early on Saturday 1 October after the student and his friend had left a campus bar. Detectives are examining CCTV footage.
