If you are interested in healthful eating, you may recognize the store name in the title of this thorough yet simple guide to cooking organic foods. Since opening its first supermarket in Texas in 1980, Whole Foods has spread throughout the country. Believing that our well-being is "inextricably linked with how we grow our food and what we eat," Petusevsky, the chef-author, and members of the Whole Foods staff offer uncomplicated recipes that cover all aspects of a meal, from appetizers to desserts, and even include a special section for kids. Many recipes use animal products, but almost all include vegetarian and vegan versions. For optimal health, the book advises applying simple cooking techniques to natural foods in their purest forms. With easy but delicious recipes like Moroccan Pan-Roasted Seafood, that won't be hard to do.
