Your article on how deceptive fast starts can be hit the nail right on the head when it comes to the Bears this ["Not So Fast," November 2002]. The Bears started out 2-0, which was a good start recordwise, but those wins were hardly dominant. Now the Bears have displayed their true colors. They are fading fast. You're right that it's true that you can't read too much into it when a team gets off to a quick start. Everything evens out as the season goes on.
