摘要:This document presents a condensed version of a student-authored evaluation of undergraduate International Development Studies (IDS) in Canada. The specific foci of the project were the ‘personality’ of IDS; the character of the various programmes teaching Development Studies in Canada; and the identity of the student drawn to this academic field. In all aspects of the investigation, the analytical lens employed was focused through the unique perspective of the undergraduate scholar. Presentation of the national data is followed by analysis and observations, and the report as a whole culminates in a set of recommendations. These recommendations are intended to depict the views of the wide diversity of IDS students surveyed; to be applicable to a broad range of Development Studies programmes and to speak – with passion and persuasion – to IDS as a field of study in Canada.
