Gene and haplotype frecuencies of HLA system in the Norht-West Argentina
摘要:The information on the anthropologic and genetic characteristic of the Argentine North-west (ANW) populations is limited. The aim of this work was to contribute to the knowledge of the HLA variability in ANW, starting from the determination of gene and haplotypes frequencies.
The sample was constituted by individuals from the 6 ANW provices: Jujuy (n = 273), Salta (n = 241), Tucumán (n = 418), Santiago del Estero (n = 140), Catamarca (n = 129) and La Rioja (n = 137). Class I antigen (Locus A and B) typing was carried out by serology. Antigen and haplotypes frequencies as well as likage disequilibrium (LD) were determined for these loci.
For locus A, A2, A24, A28 and A31 antigens presented gene frequencies higher to 10%. B35 was the only locus B specificity present in all provinces with a frequency higher or equal to 15%, while B62, B60, B51, B39, B44, B7 and B8 showed frequencies between 4 to 8%, Hapoltypes A28B35 and A2B35 were among the 5 most frequent in all the provinces. However, a great disparity among provinces in the haplotypes number with LD was observed.
It is concluded that: a) the gene and haplotypes frequencies of the HLA system of ANW populations are represented by the most common alleles of European Caucasoid and Amerindian populations; 2) the allelic frequencies of A and B loci, for all the NOA, not differ significantly with respect to the national population reference; 3) the distribution of the LD agree with the differential miscegenation process ot the ANW populations evidenced using others genetic markers and census and historical data of regional settlement.
