摘要:This research deals with the evolution of biometric longitudinal variables during the growth of 581 girls, aged from 6 to 17 years-old, in good health condition and registered in Châteauponsac schools (Haute-Vienne, France). This data were regularly collected between 1976 and 1989.
Growth curves allow analysing anthropometric data distribution in the population: height, weight, tricipital skinfold, supra-iliac skinfold, subscapular skinfold and brachial perimeter. These results will be compared with the first French growth curves published by Sempé et al. (1979), which are still used as growth standards. According to other recent works, this auxological study shows a positive evolution of skinfolds. Despite very low prevalence of overweight and obesity, these observations put in light a trend towards an excess of fat during last years.
Environmental and behavioural determinants promoting these changes still remain to be confirmed.
