摘要:In this study, by means more of 46,000 marriages, we measure several parameters of biodemography in 7 parishes of Avignon (France). The city of Popes, in spite its important textile industry, its international trade and its craftsmanship does not present a structure truly as open to influence them external. The population never exceeds more 27,000 persons during 300 years of observation. It characterizes by a reproductive isolation with an average rate of geographical endogamy close to 68.0%. The apparent consanguinity is not negligible: 1.18‰ of common genes. The study of the urban space by suitable parishes emerge from disparities and rupture zones. The biodemographics indices present no homogeneity: the ratios are significant to a parish than an other, 2.5 for the rate of dispentations, 3.5 for the apparent consanguinity and 2.7 for the isonymic consanguinity. This city show a composite structure, a parish mosaic in order that Avignon no longer would be a urban entity but an aggregate of populations.
«Les maisons (de Paris) y sont si hautes qu’on jurerait qu’elles ne sont habitées que par des astrologues. Tu juges bien qu’une ville bâtie en l’air, qui a six ou sept maisons les unes sur les autres, est extrêmement peuplée et que, quand tout le monde est descendu dans la rue, il s’y fait un bel embarras.»
