摘要:Histopathology of Prionace glauca (Chondrichthyes, Squaliformes, Carcharhinidae) liver caused by Hepatoxylon trichiuri (Eucestoda, Trypanorhyncha)Histological studies on Prionace glauca (Linnaeus, 1758) liver parasitized by Hepatoxylon trichiuri (Holten, 1802) pos-larvae show tissue alterations of capsule structure. The examined hosts were caught in the South Atlantic Ocean. Thirty eight fishes were parasitized. The parasites preferentially attach on the liver and the introduction of the armed tentacles causes severe lesions in the capsular epithelium and sub-capsular hepatic parenchyma. This is marked by the initial physical tissue rupture with cellular necrosis, blood strew and exudate formation. The subsequent host reaction includes inflammation, epithelial metaplasy, hiperplasic extracelular matrix, macrophage and lymphocytes infiltration. Scar formations is may be taken as evidence that the post-larvae move inside the organ. These processes present nodules or whitish areas that are common in the hepatic surface. Capsular morphology is reestablished with simple cubic epithelium and a thin layer of conjunctive tissue.
