摘要:Evaluation of Phyllocnistis citrella Stainton (Lepidoptera, Gracillariidae) attraction to (Z,Z) and (Z,E)-7,11-hexadecadienal in citrus orchards in Brazil
The attraction of the citrus leafminer, Phyllocnistis citrella Stainton, 1856 to sources of the synthetic aldehyde component (Z,Z)-7,11-hexadecadienal and its isomer, (Z,E)-7,11-hexadecadienal, was investigated in two field experiments in citrus groves orchards in Casa Branca/SP and Taquarí/RS, Brazil. The experiments were conducted in Delta traps with virgins’ females and treated rubber septum. In Casa
Branca, the leafminer attractiveness was tested with different amount of (Z,Z)-7,11-hexadecadienal (1, 100 and 1000 mg/septum). In Taquarí, de P. citrella attractiveness was evaluated with both isomers in the same amount (100 mg/septum). Traps baited with 100 mg were the most attractive, however, the leafminer attractiveness to both isomers was low, with no significance difference. Citrus leaf miners were low attracted to (Z,Z) and (Z,E)-7,11-hexadecadienal. In Casa Branca (Z,Z)-7,11-hexadecadienal was responsible for attractiveness of 3.23% of all captured insects, in contrast to traps with virgin females (96,77%). In Taquari, the percentages of (Z,Z) and (Z,E)-7,11-hexadecadienal captures were not statistically different, with values of 10,86 and 8,23%, respectively. However, there was a significant difference of captures with baited traps comparing to control traps (0,63%). The results implications in the chemical communication of P. citrella are discussed.
